Facts & Fiction Trivia Night

Our Facts & Fiction Trivia Night kicks off the fun at 7 pm  on Thursday 12th September at Grindelwald’s Tamar Valley Resort. The Resort are offering a $20 pre-trivia dinner at the Alpenrose bistro from 5.30 pm. Meal bookings essential: 6330 0444.

Meeting of Minds

Award winning Tasmanian writers Rohan Wilson and Robbie Arnott will come together for a Meeting of Minds Conversation and Q&A on Friday 13th September at the Annexe Theatre, Inveresk. Tickets: $25 general admission; $20 Friends of the Festival/Taswriters members $20; Students $10.

Chilli FM Kids’ Reading Hour

The Launceston Library is the venue for the free community event, Chilli FM Kids’ Reading Hour from 11 am. Author and mathematics educator, Associate Professor Tracey Muir will read and talk about her recent picture book, Heads or Tails. In the story Maggie tosses a coin whenever she has a decision to make.

Bring your children and participate in an interactive sharing of the story, and then read the stories, and view an exhibition about kindness submitted by students aged 8 – 19 as part of a collaborative project with the Tamar Community Peace Festival.

 

Good Sunday Read

Join us on Sunday afternoon of the 15th, from 2 – 3 pm, and bring a novel, magazine or journal of your choice for an hour of communal silent reading at Grindelwald’s Tamar Valley Resort. Free entry but taste plates of wine and cheese available for $10.00.

 

The 2020 event has been cancelled due to Covid-19, so the next full Festival will be held in September 2021 when you will again be immersed in the magical world of words in one of Tasmania’s most picturesque valleys. Organised entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers, the Tamar Valley Writers Festival will be offering  masterclasses, conversations, panel discussions and Q&As covering all genres of writing around the theme: Tasmania on the Global Page.
